This post has been updated. Glo has added a new data plan under its Special Data Plans category. You can now get 2GB for N500 and 1GB for N300.

Probably Glo listened to us and decided to bring back plan but with different terms and conditions.
Glo went ahead to launch a new plan which you can get 1GB for ₦300, and 2GB for ₦500 comparing this new plan to the previous 1.2GB for ₦200 plan, clearly the new plan is more expensive than the previous plan and the validity is shorter.


HOW TO SUBSCRIBE FOR GLO 1GB FOR N300


1. Make sure you have at least N300 or ₦500 on your Glo sim

2. Dial *777#, Then reply with 1 > then 1 > then 5 > then 1 > then 1.

3. Data Validity: 1 day

4. Dial *127*0# to check data balance.

MTN Launched a New Data Plan, 1.5GB for 1,200 Naira

Some days back MTN sent us a message saying that they would increase the price of their data plans, which affected the N2000 and N1000 plans existing ones. MTN has released a data plan and has modified the existing ones.

Just as they previously announced through text message, MTN sent out messages to some of their subscribers today saying . 

MTN NG has officially added a new data plan that gives you 1.5GB for N1200 which is usable all day and valid for 30 days.

Unlike the modified existing data plans this new data plan can work both day and night and it works on all internet enabled devices like Android, iOS, Windows phone, Tablet and Laptop.


 You can dial *131#, reply with 1 and then with 2 to see the new data plan.

This recent development is strange and their data plans are now like that of 9mobile which i strongly feel we are greatly cheated on.

 The double data offer still work perfectly with the 1200 naira plan. which means you can get up to 3GB for just 1,200 naira. See how HERE.

This question has been bothering most people, and even some said they would not subscribe until the confirm whether it is really unlimited.

The answer is YES and NO

Whether the plan is unlimited depends solely on your point of view:

YES: It is unlimited, because you would have access to the internet for the whole month and there is no limit to the amount of data you can use in a month

NO: It is not unlimited, because the browsing speed  would be throttled to around 256kb/s after you have exceeded the set limit for the various plans.

So the summary of it all is that you have access to the internet for 30 days, just that your browsing speed would reduce after you have exceeded a set data cap for each plan.



CONCLUSION:
If you are thinking of subscribing for any on the plans you should consider the the browsing speed of Airtel in your area. If its good and OK, then you should consider the plan because it is an OK plan, But if your browsing speed is slower that a snail, then you should consider other networks.
